Singapore----------Day 5

The fifth day. We had gone to many places, and we didn't know where else to go. So, we went back to Toa Payoh to have lunch and shop.

While in Toa Payoh, I told my mum to drop me in Popular bookstore, as I was not interested in handbags or shoes. While in Popular, I found that many of the books there were cheap. And I chanced upon to have a look about Singapore's education. Here are what I found out:

1. Singapore O-Level, which is said to be equivalent to SPM, have an English syllabus based on British's. So technically the English of these two countries share the same standard. However, Singapore O-Level Chinese has a unbelievably low standard. Their chinese paper is about the same as Standard 6 in Malaysia. All you have to do is reading the passage and finding the answer. No mind-twisting needed.

2. Their Secondary 1 Maths questions are more difficult than Malaysia's form 3. But their Secondary 4 Malay is much easier than standard 5 in Malaysia.

After staying in Popular for about an hour, we went to buy cheap stuffs. Then we headed back home to get packed and ready to go home.

At night, my uncle brought us to Boon Lay station and we boarded a bus to go home. The bus was enormous, and every seats had personal television. There were many movies for me to watch, and I watched "Windstruck" and "Eagle Eyes". After I finished watching, it was about 1.00am and I slept.

Again, I had sporadic wake-up. This time was worse. Around 4.30am, our bus broke down, somewhere outside the highway. We were stuck in the road and unable to continue our journey. I knew nothing and went back to sleep. Then, roughly about an hour, we changed a bus and continued our journey.

Luckily the bus didn't meet an accident. Here I am, safe and sound, writing my blog.

Anyway, I reached home around Tuesday morning 7.30am, and went back home to continue sleeping.
