Cheers

Just came back from a friend's blog. X is sad that Xdidn't get 8As in PMR. The way X describes his/her feelings was specific, and the emotion was strongly felt by me. You can call me sentimental, but I guess I am.

PMR isn't everything. Initially, weeks before I hold the paper stating that I get 8As in PMR, I was sure I couldn't get straight As. My emotion was disturbed, many emotions had mixed together and I couldn't point out what emotions I was feeling. In PMR, I had made serious mistakes in both BM and BC.

You know what came next, I was sad, disturbed, broken. My tiny little heart was as fragile as a glass, and it was smashed with a force so enormous that I had never imagined. However, after days, I felt like that was nothing to be sad. So what if I didn't get 8As? So, I lived happily after the few days, until the day PMR result is out.

I felt nothing. PMR getting 8As to me, felt like nothing. No sadness. Just a little happy because what I had studied in 3 years had not wasted.

So what with 8As? It's just PMR. Without a SPM certificate, what job can you find outside? PMR is nothing. It only shows you what you have learned so far, what have you accomplished in 3 years time. SPM determines you fate, it is your lead to your dream, your route to your triumph.

So cheer up. You think your fate is changed? Yeap...your fate might have changed, but you have two years to change it back to what you want. Two years is a limit. Don't waste it.

Well, I guess I have been too emotional......

Anyway, it's December 31, 2009. The last day of 2009. I guess this is the last post this year. My hands are shaking, stopping writing now.

4S3

Class list out! I kept my fingers crossed, hoping I will be in a class with my friends. But turns out, my class does not have many of my friends, and worse still, a person I detest is in the same class with me.

Ah, I envied Jefferson so much. He is in the class with his good friends. I wish I'm in 4S6, where Wee Chin, Chin Seng and Derrick are. Haiz.........

==Updates==

Geez, why am I so bored? I haven't heard a single complaint from my friends and yet here I am, annoying people because I'm annoyed by the fact that I'm bored.

Anyway, I have changed my blogskin to this. I would use this for months, at least, before I find a more interesting-looking blogskin.

Singapore----------Day 5

The fifth day. We had gone to many places, and we didn't know where else to go. So, we went back to Toa Payoh to have lunch and shop.

While in Toa Payoh, I told my mum to drop me in Popular bookstore, as I was not interested in handbags or shoes. While in Popular, I found that many of the books there were cheap. And I chanced upon to have a look about Singapore's education. Here are what I found out:

1. Singapore O-Level, which is said to be equivalent to SPM, have an English syllabus based on British's. So technically the English of these two countries share the same standard. However, Singapore O-Level Chinese has a unbelievably low standard. Their chinese paper is about the same as Standard 6 in Malaysia. All you have to do is reading the passage and finding the answer. No mind-twisting needed.

2. Their Secondary 1 Maths questions are more difficult than Malaysia's form 3. But their Secondary 4 Malay is much easier than standard 5 in Malaysia.

After staying in Popular for about an hour, we went to buy cheap stuffs. Then we headed back home to get packed and ready to go home.

At night, my uncle brought us to Boon Lay station and we boarded a bus to go home. The bus was enormous, and every seats had personal television. There were many movies for me to watch, and I watched "Windstruck" and "Eagle Eyes". After I finished watching, it was about 1.00am and I slept.

Again, I had sporadic wake-up. This time was worse. Around 4.30am, our bus broke down, somewhere outside the highway. We were stuck in the road and unable to continue our journey. I knew nothing and went back to sleep. Then, roughly about an hour, we changed a bus and continued our journey.

Luckily the bus didn't meet an accident. Here I am, safe and sound, writing my blog.

Anyway, I reached home around Tuesday morning 7.30am, and went back home to continue sleeping.

The annoying friend (although I hate to admit it) had badgered me for months and I couldn't bear it anymore and fulfilled his wish today. His wish: to go to Megamall with him. If I didn't agree I might want to suppress the surge to hit him for years.

This time, I was accompanied with two other friends, who were there at the party last night. The annoying friend, I'm calling him A, to protect his privacy, wanted to eat KFC for lunch, although I didn't like it much.

We wanted to play bowling, but a competition was held there and we couldn't do anything but watching. Then we went to watch a movie. The blockbuster movie Avatar.

While in the theatre, I chose not to sit beside A. I did make a smart choice. My friend who sat beside him nearly went berserk. I wouldn't blame him. A is such a pain in the neck.

Avatar is not that interesting. I have to admit, the pulsating music was great, but I didn't like it much. The movie was kind of boring. The length of the movie is about 2 hours and 15 minutes, and I had trouble to keep myself awake after about an hour. Only the last 30 minutes caught my attention (as you might have expected, the fighting scenes). The others were just normal, and kind of boring (in my opinion). My rating: 7/10 (saved by fighting scenes).

Party

On December 25, 2009, my friend, Goh Yiet Hean, had 'indirectly' invited me to go to a celebration. Organised by his father (I think so), I accepted his invitation and went to his celebration.

At first I went to his house, only to find out his celebration was held in another place. So embarassing......

Then, I met them at a temple behind Golden Phoenix. Off all the people, I only recognised two. And I realised most of the people invited were there to greet Yiet Hean for scoring 8As. I couldn't blame them. His photo was beautifully printed in newspaper.

Anyway, I had a great time there. An uncle gave me a plate of fried rice. Thank you. Then I had a plate of tomyam noodle and a bowl of laksa. You must think that I'm a glutton. But each plates contain only a small amount of food. After that they played with...artificial snow?? A product of China. They sprayed the "snow" around, on cars, on shirts, on hairs, and which to my opinion, utterly childish.

Then, we played chinese chess. I hadn't played for months, and my skills began to move backwards. I lost all the matches.

But anyway, I had a cheerful night. Thanks for the invitation.

Merry Christmas

We wish you a merry christmas
We wish you a merry christmas
We wish you a merry christmas
and a happy new year.

Hohoho~~~It's Christmas!! Let's celebrate. You see, in conjunction with Christmas, I have changed by blog's template to this. Is this beautiful? Please comment.

Conversation

My fourth day in Singapore is posted below "PMR result", please take note.

As I said, the conversation I heard between my mother and aunty Sharron.

1. While aunty Sharron was in China, she finds herself difficult to accustomed to the surrounding. China is a mountainous area and you have to be physically strong to stay there. And she experienced something that she couldn't believe it herself. She actually went to a doorless toilet. The toilet do not have doors and people just have to squat there and pee or poo. She said it was unbelievably true and they could chat on the phone like no one is watching. Oh my god....

2. Aunty Sharron actually praised me that I am fluent in bilingual. She said she hopes her children could be fluent in bilingual too, and especially their chinese. Aunty Sharron hopes that her children are able to master Chinese.

Aunty Sharron's benevolence is much appreciated by me. She bought us something cost more than $20. Thank you for the meal.

On the MRT, conversation between me and cousin Bryan.

1. Singapore O-Level, which is said to be equivalent to SPM, only have 7 subjects, while SPM have a minimum of 10. I was thunderstruck. 7 subjects?? And with their Chinese having a much lower standard compared to Malaysia?? It will be a cinch, and his O-level would have gone swimmingly. He was too puzzled. Especially when he knew that a Malaysian have to learn 3 languages, which he claimed himself that he can't even master two. No means to patronise you, but, shouldn't you have done better in Chinese? At least you have two languages to learn and we have three.

2. Singapore's history lessons study about the world wars, while Malaysia's history lessons study about Islam. One thing he doesn't know is I always dozed off while reading history textbook.

3. Experiments are part of O-level. Teachers from other school will be sent to a particular school to monitor their experiments and give ratings. However, in Malaysia, PEKA are utterly useless.

4. He wished that I will go more to Singapore, or study there. I wish I can, but I might not be able to be there again. I will if I can, I promise you.

There were more, but I'm not going to post more.

By the way, do you know Singapore's Malay standard is unbelievably low? In the MRT, there are signboards. Each signboards are multilingually written, including Malay. And do you know, one simple Malay sentence, not more than 15 words, contain 2 errors? If you have a chance to visit Singapore, go have a look yourself.

PMR result

Finally, after we have been waiting for months, the PMR result is finally out.

Not many students are eager to receive the result, particularly those who know they didn't do well in PMR. I am a prime example. Of course, some are nervous, some don't even care. Who cares how they feel?

I reached the school upon 10.00am, and waited for 30 minutes for the result. Finally the result is out. And I score 8As. In another way of saying, straight As!

I was elated and numbed with surprise. I know I did not do well in Malay, and weirdly, I score A.

Some of my friends broke down. They were sad they didn't get all A. Some of my friends don't care. Anyway, I feel sorry for those who did not get all As. It's just PMR. SPM and STPM or foundation are more important. Do work hard and get flying colours.

Meanwhile, the good news: SMJK Jit Sin performance has rose. This year, 238/553 score all As, which means 43.04%. My heartiest congratulation to our school students.

Singapore----------Day 4

The fourth day.

Accompanied by aunty Sharron, my uncle's wife and a Singapore citizen, we went to many places. Firstly, me and my mother took the MRT to Toa Payoh, the place we agreed to meet each other. Aunty Sharron was quite punctual, although a few minutes late. But hey.....thinks are unpredictable. Anything could have happened in the last minute. So we did not make a fuss about that.

Toa Payoh is a place for tourist from Malaysia. Goods there are relatively cheap. Two bottles of shampoo for $6. Convert it to Malaysia ringgit and it is around RM13-17. If you think this is expensive, you are seriously and mentally wrong. We had our lunch there. Foods were delicious. Then, my mother and aunty Sharron went and looked the girl stuffs. I was bored, but I did not express it.

We didn't stay Toa Payoh for long. Then, from Toa Payoh, we took the MRT straight to Changi Airport.

I just wanted to have a glimpse of Changi Airport. And yep, a few pictures had been snapped.

This is the place where you are ready to embark the plane.

Decorations are quite beautiful.

Weirdly, Changi Airport wasn't crowded. We could see only a few people. My mother and aunty Sharron were both boring. They, somehow, like to use the skytrain in the airport to move from one station to another. Skytrain is somewhat like the MRT, just smaller and connecting shorter distance. Next, go check up what this is:

The Merlion!
From Changi Airport we took the MRT to City Hall and walked to the Merlion. There was a distance, it consumed some time. Nevertheless, we ambled along the road and reached the Merlion.

An going-to-be casino. Currently in construction.
Aunty Sharron then bought us tea time. She brought us to Coffee Bean, and bought three cups of coffees and two slices of cakes. And guess what, it cost $20++. Wow! She then chatted with my mother. The conversation will be posted later. Next, we went to Chinatown!

It was around 6.30pm. My cousins, Sha Jie, decided to accompany us. It was great. I could learn to socialise by chatting more with her. Cousins Bryan decided to follow to. We took MRT from City Hall interchange to Dhoby Ghaut interchange, then took the MRT from Dhoby Ghaut and alight at Chinatown.

I'm pretty sure it will be more beautiful during Chinese New Year.

We have our dinner there, in a restaurant, and the food there was indescribeable. Very...very delicious. In Chinatown, you will feel yourself in China. Everybody there speaks with a strong China's accent. After dinner, we went to Clarke Quay.

Picture's quality is not good. sorry.

From left: my mother, aunty Sharron, cousin Sha Jie and cousin Bryan.

Clarke Quay is one of the tourist's attraction. Many restaurants are built there. The Singapore River in Clarke Quay has been featured in many Singapore drama. I should have snapped more pictures. After that, we were all soaked in sweat and took the MRT. While upon MRT, I had a chat with cousin Bryan, and the conversation will be posted later. After that, I bid goodbye to all my cousins and aunty and went back to my uncle's house, bathed, and had a wonderful sleep.

Back....Back

After four nights of holiday, I'm back!

Okay, I'm cutting the crap, I will go straight to the topic.

December 19, 2009
My sister is on holiday. We get our stuff ready and go to Kampar to fetch my sister. Without delays, we go to Puchong, Selangor to meet my uncle. I'm looking forward to play with my cousins. They are all young, with the eldest 8 years old and youngest 3 years old. They are adorable. I have a great time there.

December 20, 2009
We go to Sunway Pyramid. Due to Christmas, Sunway is packed with people. We have our lunch there in Old Town White Coffee. The price is affordable, and the food is quite tasty. I buy a few books.

December 21, 2009
We wake up bright and early, and go to Kampar to help my sister to register her time table. Apparently UTAR wasn't punctual in time and delayed the time of registration. Within a few minutes, the time table has been fully booked and my sister has to apply the time table personally, in the office. Then, we go to Cameron Highland. The road is winding, and I feel like puking. Nonetheless, I didn't. We stayed in an apartment. The apartment lacks facilities. But who to be blamed? It's RM200 per night.

Then, we have our lunch in a restaurant. The food is still affordable and worth the price. Then we wandered our way to Tanah Rata park. The part looks derelict. Despite our will to enjoy the natural cool air, the biting wind and the overcast weather forced us to stay back in our apartment. We have our dinner in Brinchang's night market. The night market is packed, and the traffic is congested. I said inwardly: "Like this also want to come ah?" It's true. Nothing interesting in the night market.

December 22, 2009
The bitterly cold weather forced us to stay at home. We have cup noodles as breakfast, and rice for lunch. Then we stay at home, enjoying the cool breeze. Initially we want to eat Steamboot, but my parents and sister are full, and they can't eat anymore. So, we go to MarryBrown and have simple dinner. After dinner, we walk back to our apartment, and I bought an ice-cream. It feels great to eat ice-cream in a cold weather.

I try to keep my post short and simple. Nothing interesting occured in Cameron, so I have nothing much to say. I will post my fourth day in Singapore later.

Lastly,
Hopes all PMR candidates score straight As tomorrow. Good Luck to all of you and me. (^_^)

Friday 18 December 2009

Holidaying

PMR result out on December 24. S*n of the b*t*h, if I don't get 8As, my mood will be completely spoilt and I wouldn't have the joy to celebrate christmas. I am not confident to get 8As. I don't know what I will get. The foreboding I'm experiencing is the harbinger of me failing PMR.

Tomorrow I will be going to Kampar to fetch my sister, and then my family and I will go straight to Puchong, where my grandparents live. We will stay there for about 2 nights, and then we will go to Cameron Highland for another 2 nights, hopefully. I will come back on Wednesday. Enjoy before I visit hell.

Saying 5 days goodbye to facebook and my blog, although I don't really miss you. Just saying goodbye as a sign of politeness.

Very....very lazy to post about my fourth day in Singapore. Too many pictures have been snapped, and I had gone to too many places. Actually only 4, but it was tiring. The decision to post it hang on my mood.

I should have supplicate before I sat for PMR......

Thursday 17 December 2009

Singapore----------Day 3

I woke up, still dazed, to find out it was already 8.30am. It was Sunday, and my uncle and aunt still didn't need to go working. They were both free, and decided to bring us around, again. But this time, we had one more company. She is my eldest cousin. She is 26 this year, and currently a permanent resident in Singapore, working as a pharmacist. We gave her a warm welcoming and she followed us to wherever we went.

My uncle brought my mother to buy bus tickets. We decided to come back on Tuesday night, so my uncle brought my mother to Boon Lay shopping complex to buy the ticket. After that, my uncle brought us to a shopping complex to buy books. Books there were relatively cheap. I bought two. Yep!

Then he brought us to Dhoby Ghaut because we were going to Sentosa Island. My cousin, Shu Ning, decided to follow upon a whim. We welcomed her. It was late. We reached Sentosa station around 1.00pm.

You can buy ticket or just use EZ-link card to pay.

Taking this picture in the monerail.

Sentosa Island, Beach Station

Every person is forced to line up before boarding the bus, even if they are unwilling to do so.

I wish so badly that I can take a picture with a python, but the price is $5 for one........

$22.50 per entry. Exorbitantly expensive.

Octopus

Sotong

Huge...........

The jellyfish is almost invisible.

Too many people were in the underwater world, hence, the room became stuffy.

Stingray's face
The Underwater world is not big. So small that we finished walking in about 30 minutes. It cost $22.50 per entry. It was so expensive!! I will never visit it again. After that, we watched a performance gracefully performed by seals. We waited for an hour, and the performance was less than 20 minutes. What a waste of time!
Trainer feeding the seals.

Seals waved towards the guests.

Seal playing with its trainer.

A seal standing...so cute.

The tourists from India came with hands full of foods and left with seats full with rubbish. India's disgrace.

Do you know tap water in Singapore can be drunk? It is safe. Many people have drunk it, so did I. In fact, tap water was my source of water for a few days. The fact that tap water can be drunk is confirmed by locals.

We left the Underwater World around 5.00pm. We still had time before Songs of the Sea performed. So, we strolled around the island. I was so eager to have the skyride. But the price was.......expensive. We walked, and walked, and we reached the Sentosa's Merlion.

Each person has to pay $8 to enter the Merlion. We were flabbergasted. Nonetheless, we just had a look at the outside.

This picture was taken after we left Sentosa. It was found outside Sentosa Station.

After visiting the Merlion, we went back to where we began and waited for the Songs of the Seas to be performed. The entry price was still expensive, $10 per entry....haiz....The performance was great, the seats were fully occupied. This show was performed with water, and fulled with cartoon characters. Frankly, the show was quite mesmerising. I enjoyed the scenes more than the songs. I couldn't take video. Sorry.

Let the show begins......

I should have taken the climax. The best part, in my opinion, was the part where fire was pushed out from the underground. I was sitting at the back, but I could feel the heat. So great!
After the show, it was late, and we boarded the MRT from Dhoby Ghaut to Bishan...or Yishun, I can't remember, to visit my another uncle. After we alighted the MRT, we took a cap and reached his house. My first uncle wasn't in, but my aunt was. I called her first aunt, to avoid confusion. My cousin, Bryan, was there too. They chatted for a few minutes, and then we headed back home to kip.
