HP7, Part 2

I presupposed this movie would be a jaw-dropping one, and it indeed is superb! No wonder it broke US box office, the movie progresses with an extremely slow pace but yet it successfully delivers all the thrills to the audience.

The movie literally begins where the first part ends. Then Harry (portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (played by Rupert Grint) and Hermione (played by Emma Watson) infiltrate Bellatrix's vault, and their planned nearly failed, but Hermione's incredible intelligence saves all of them from a tragic death.

Then the story progresses to three of them going back to Hogwarts, and confronted by Snape, then Professor McGonagall, who is benevolent to a fault in her ripe old age, takes Harry under her wing and saved Harry from Snape. She knows Harry well enough to know he doesn't come back if whatever he's after for ain't important, and she is right - Harry is back in search of horcruxes.

Then the battle - the climax of the movie - begins. All the professors cast powerful spells to protect the castles from damages in order to buy some time for Harry to obliterate any horcruxes he could find, despite the chance of destroying them is screamingly slim.

But of course, movies aren't meant to be anti-climax. All three horcruxes are destroyed at the end, with the final horcrux remains sentient. And, of course, the main antagonist dies, in vain.

I liked the movie a lot, particularly when the protective spells are cast. Those trigger-happy students are so keyed up to fight even though they know they would die - there's what I call courageous.

I'm not a professional student and movie reviewers, I'm just an ordinary boy from an ordinary family with no knowledge about movie effects. Therefore I wouldn't comment on the direction, visual and sound effects.

To me, they are good. It's interesting how Voldemort decides to leave no stone unturned to search for Harry. Movies are really different from novels.

It's a pity those hapless students die in vain after they valiantly battled for Harry.

Many of the scenes are cut. I was anticipated to watch the battle between the three professors and Voldemort, but the part of the story is removed and replaced by the battle between Harry and Voldemort. They actually lengthen the fight. And the fight between Ron's mother and Bellatrix too is a bit of a let-down. Too short, too fast, too different from what is told in the novel.

93% of the movie are actions. This movie contains less humorous content compared to part 1, but the action scenes certainly aren't something to miss.

And I was wondering, how the hell did J. K. Rowling construct the storyline. They are perfectly written and somehow connected to each other. Each and every one objects and scenes is being brought up again in this movie, except the goblet of fire.

I simply love this movie. A strong A+.
