Exam Result

Let's see how I have done.

BM: Terribly done. Paper 1: 84, paper 2: 57 only!!!!. Our 'dear' Seggaran gives all of us 2 marks extra as bonus, so at first my result was 58. Now 60. On the line.

BI: Terribly done. Paper 1: 56/85. Our teacher defines 'strict' as 'lenient'. I don't know what she is thinking about, the marks she gives are too low. I'm pretty sure SPM's standard isn't that high. Paper 2: 62/75. Ok

BC: OMG!! Paper 1: 76/100. Paper 2: 42/100!!!!!! Gosh! My total mark 59/100, my teacher gives me one mark, and it becomes 60. TQ teacher.

MM: The one I satisfy the most: 96/100. If I was not careless I could have got 99/100.

MTAM: Surprisingly, I got 79/100. If I wasn't careless I could get 81/100. But 79 is good enough, I guess.

BIO: 74!!!!! I can't believe I did well in biology.

CHEM: The science subject I hate the most, and the science subject I score the highest: 78/100.

PHY: The science subject I adore the most, and the science subject I score the lowest: 55/100. FAIL!!!! Does things always go to the contrary?

SEJ: I must be dreaming, I score 84. Objective: 37/40. Paper 2: 62/80. I didn't know I would get 35/40 for my essays. I thought I would fail because I didn't know what I was writing about. Maybe the teacher didn't know what he was marking, and hence my result is unexpected.

PM: 80 marks. No comments

SV: The lowest mark I ever score: 68/100. I heard someone from 4S2 failed. Geez.

IT: Negligible.

Overall, my results are way too bad. Gotta brush up all my subjects.

Work, Eat

What could be more boring than gotong-royong? What's the point of having gotong-royong? To clean the school so that it could be sparkling clean, even though everybody knows the cleanliness would never last. Or just simply to follow the rules given, so that troubles could be avoided. Or it is just one of the ways our school tries to create friendliness amongst students and teachers?

Who cares?

Gotong-royong was simply a waste of time. It took us about an hour to clean IT3, and then we spent the next few hours doing nothing. Some of my friends were cleaning the classroom, and it was amazing how "clean" the classroom became, but it wasn't unusual because it was, in fact, matter-of-factly, the normal outcome always observed.

The classroom needed to be mopped. Of all the ideas they could think of, they decided to go tradisional--cleaning the floor with a wet cloth. It did look fun, but it was not sensible to do it because they were inexperienced. So they went on frolicking and shame on ZJ because he fell. Haha. That was a sight to behold.

ZJ fell twice. Once because he slipped due to the watery surface, and the second time he tried to glide but unsuccessful and Raymond was knocked down. They both fell with ZJ on the floor and Raymond on top of him. The latter fall was more breathtaking and sidesplitting.

4S2 was worse. They decided to have a game. They wet all the cloths they found and decided to throw it to their enemies. Their creativeness attracted a multitude of people to watch. They were generous not to ask for money, and they were too lucky because teachers were ignorant about them.

After that we rearranged the tables and the curtains were put on. Then teachers began to enter our class and distribute papers. I'll talk about my papers later.

==

Mr. CMC is going to retire sometime around August. As he is our teacher advisor for our society, we decided to throw a party and treasure the time we are together. The party was held on Wednesday's afternoon.

On Tuesday we stumbled upon difficulties, but the difficulties had been overcome (proudly, by me). On Wednesday we went to collect our KFC. I felt happy the lady in the shop still recognise me, it did make my job easier. We ordered 4 Barrel (84 chickens) and only 3 were left.

All members were invited to feast on. Some were ravenous but some were not. Whatever it was they all binged on the delicacies. Eating was definitely enjoyable, but spending money was a hell lot of pain. Drinks were served and almost all were drunk.

After the meal only 3 chickens were left (which were horrifying because they were only 30+ members). CMC brought the chickens home and the chilli sauce were given to those who wanted it.

After the meal I saw the scouts were throwing mudball into the river. I joined them and threw some. I loved throwing. It made you feel less depressed and I felt better, but not my stomach as it was still expanded after I starved few chickens down.

The happiness ended later. Story ends.

Leadership Camp, Day 3

I woke up earlier than the day before--5.45am. I wasn't very tired the previous day so I woke up without feeling lethargic anymore. I took my toothbrush and brushed my teeth, but I didn't shower because it was inconvenient and it didn't need to do so because we were about to sweat again.

First thing first--the aerobics. Just another silly activity. Then breakfast, another box of inedible noodles. This stuff I felt better eating than, probably I had just accustomed to eating inedible foods. Then, those who thought themselves to be qualified to win the best campers award were called forward to introduce themselves. Some of them were thick-skinned. They knew they weren't qualified but yet they stood out and introduced themselves. Kind of pity them. They should have dignity.

Then the next activity: Treasure Hunt. We were told that there were 10 hidden treasures around the school, and we were free to search around, in one condition: be back in the hall by 9.45am or we would face our comeuppance. We had an hour to look for the treasures.

The game began on 8.45am. So we all went around (in groups) the school to look for any clues. So we were like dogs scavenging around. We picked up whatever we found, ironically everybody picked up rubbish and unfold all the papers they found. That might be the first time everybody had been so hardworking on cleaning the school compound. And yes, I was being sarcastic.

We ran around the school like wild dogs. We went to meet our faci-s (abbreviation of facilitators) and tried to sweet-talk them into giving us clues. But the decision to believe in what they said was totally depended on us. Whatever they said might be true and might also be false, therefore its reliability was not 100%. But most of us thought that it might be more sensible to listen, whether true of false, to what they said, it was better than running around without anything.

So we looked around the school until 9.45am, and the result--nothing. Surprisingly only one group managed to uncover one of the hidden treasure, and that was the first group. But their prizes weren't attractive, only 2 bottles of 100-plus and few 555 notebooks.

Then we had a speech given my Michael Teoh, a well-known Malaysia. He specialises in things about youth. He has given speech in a lot of top universities all around the world. His story was titillating although I realised people around me had dozed off. The way he gave the speech was unique (a mixture of Hokkien and English) and adding to his gesticulation, he made me think he was energetic and was confident about himself. I enjoyed his speech the most.

After that we had money-counting. The result was sealed.

Then we had lunch, our last very lunch there. Then we bathed and began to arrange the tables in the classrooms. After that we all took our luggages down to the hall, where everything was about to come to an end.

We went out groups by groups to take photos, and as you can see, my picture above looked silly and hideous. You can't blame me. I know I looked unkempt but please tolerate with it, I hadn't learnt to comb my hair. In fact, my hair has never grown to an extent that I have to comb my hair. Ignore my teeth.

Then we had another photo-taking. All of us (300+students) and faci-s stood at middle (you know that place) and took the picture. I was pretty sure my face was covered and I think I covered JJ's face (did I?). After that we were given forms. We were asked to fill the form and tell them the pros and cons of the camp.

After that the music started, and everyone in the hall went high. Suddenly 200+ students began to mix together and play happily, wildly, and I was pretty sure the residents around the school have gone berserk by the noise we made. Did I mention we were complained earlier in the morning? A resident came to the gate and told us to shut our mouth, but in a polite and indirect way. Pity them too because they had to endure cacophony of noises, particularly early in the morning at 6.00am and late in the night at 12.00midnight.

Everyone was enjoying their last moment, including me. After that groups by groups left the hall and went home.

I was smart. I knew they were going to delay (punctuality never exist among those people) so I told my mother to come later than the time stated. And they wasn't punctual (like it hadn't happened before).

So overall the camp was quite interesting, to me the rating is 7/10. 1 mark deducted because I'm bored for quite a long time, and 2 marks deducted from the debate.

Leadership Camp, Day 2

I woke up around 5.55am when LCW woke me. I was surprised myself because this was the first time I woke up with just one call. Whenever someone told me to get off my bed I would always tell them: "Give me 5 minutes" and then I dropped off again. Wow this was amazing, I actually woke up in one call!

Then I went to brush my teeth and upon 6.25am all of us were in the hall, where we had aerobics. I hated aerobics. I found it silly. I didn't know what you guys think. What you guys think?

Then we had breakfast--fried mee. OMG when I smelled that box of mee I nearly puked. The food was inedible. It was tasteless. I felt like I was biting strings of flour instead of mee. I tried to finish it but GOD it was difficult to swallow. Many couldn't finish the mee, including me of course, and Derrick told me to stuff them as most of them found the mee difficult to be swallowed too. So I did what he said, and my stomach protested later.

I'm not going to talk about my stomach pain. Forget the pain.

Then we had a speech. I was the treasurer of maths society so I found that useful. Others than that everything was just a waste of time.

Then we had a debate. It was a total waste of time and the debate was boring and tedious and had a way too strong soporific effect. Many had begun to doze off, but I endeavoured to stay awake because those who slept would be photographed. Many of them had the gallantry to speak on the stage. I hated debate. Why? Ok, here's first: the "committees" loved to interrupt. If you wanted us to speak, let us finished what we wanted to speak. STOP INTERRUPTING!! You said you wanted to give us a chance to speak out, let us had the guts to talk to the public, you didn't say you wanted us to learn the way to speak. IT WAS A DEBATE!!! How could we be able to find points if we were only given 30 minutes? Even a profesional needed more than 2 days to debate. STOP INTERRUPTING!!! YOU GUYS SPOILT THE MOOD!!

Secondly, as I had mentioned, what the hell can get facts within 30 minutes? If you can, why don't you go up the stage instead? Seriously you think you can? Oh wait....I remembered TYC from my class was one of the debaters, and he spent how many days to prepare for one topic? Let me think, 2 minutes? 2 days? Oh no~ Wait! IT WAS TWO WEEKS!!! How could one possibly can think out good facts within 30 minutes? And you dared say we didn't have good ideas?????? YOU IDIOTS!!!

THE WORST ACTIVITY CONDUCTED! EVER!!!!!!!

So that "standoff" was a total waste of time, and I was sure somebody else thought that way too.

But anyway, the camaraderie of the debaters should be praised.

Then we bathed had lunch. The food was meagre, but we didn't whine because we knew the results would be the same. Then we had another talk about environmental science. I don't know how many times I had slept, but I knew I wasn't listening to our speaker. Sorry. Her slides shed some light on the talk, but I hated to say the way she delivered her speech was very....very boring.
.
Then we had station game. The best activity of all. Although the weather was scorching, we managed to finish all the games. I felt dog-tired after that, but I guess that was natural. We walked away with 5 prizes, by the way.

Then we had dinner. My group was special because we had dinner first before we hit the shower. The food was okay, but the tomato sauce was way too sour! After dinner we had presentation, where the whole group of people went up to the stage to perform.

Okay. I extrapolated the presentation would be extremely boring. But I had to admit--I was wrong! It was interesting (except my group's presentation, it was lame). We had 5 judges, who had gimlet-eyes that annoyed everybody. Some of them danced, some of them sang, some of them performed drama. And many more.

Then after the presentation (it was delayed for one hour) we were all "scolded" by our committees. At first we were told to turn back and face the doors. They picked on small things and told us to do pumping. I was fine with all of them, although I hated to sweat at midnight. Then they told us to turn back and I saw candles being lit. They had cakes for them who were celebrating their birthday on June. Oh that was a surprise! What a surprise!

Around 12.20am we went to had supper. I saw TSE and my useless teacher SEG. Apparently they hadn't slept and had been monitoring in the school. I never ate the biscuits provided. Then we went back to our hostels and began to sleep. So tired!

Leadership Camp, Day 1

It was the first day I went to that camp. I reached school around 7am, which made me one of the earliest person to arrive there. I wasn't the earliest, because YZR was with me.

I waited for 1 hour. Around 7.45am I realised everybody was wearing their society t-shirt or uniform, and I wasn't wearing either. I was wearing my house t-shirt. I began to panic because I thought I didn't follow the rules enforced, but then someone told me the rules didn't state anything, they all wore the shirts because they wanted to. THE BIGGEST COINCIDENCE IN THE WORLD!!

After that we began to assemble in the groups. I was put into the second group and I was shocked when I realised there were none of them whom I knew. I was familiar with three boys' names and none girls' name....tt.

When they ordered us to take out our cutlery, I realised I didn't bring my cup. But I guess that didn't matter because I wasn't the only one, and I would never be the only one.

Then we sat in groups and began to listen to speeches. The camp began with a series of games that I find exceedingly boring. And I wasn't the only one to feel that way.

Then we had to fight to make our own flag. The blah....I couldn't remember anymore because everything was moving so slowly......

Lunch....unexpectedly, all of our lunch were packed in a plastic container. And we were told not to throw them away because we needed to us them again for the next meal, and the next meal, and then the next meal until our last meal.

Afternoon, we listened to a speech. It was an okay speech. TJS's cousin was the talker and we were the 'listeners'. The talk given was quite garden-variety. He liked to be flattered and I didn't bother to flatter him. But LZJ did something verbally diabolical. But it wasn't direct and we understood why he said that (haha), but still.....it was mean!!

Next....station game. We were running around wildly from a station to another. There were all together 4 stations, and my group won all of them! Yes!!

After dinner, we had a game. We were not allowed to see what was inside a box, we were only allowed to shove our hand inside and grope around until you touch something, and then you tell the 'faci' (short form for facilitator) what you were actually touching. Our group wasn't lucky that time. Lucky never stays.

Then, movie sharing--"An Inconvenient Truth", the most boring, most banal, most lacklustre movie. The documentary movie was about global warming. Although I really wanted to watch the movie, I was dog-tired and so I couldn't pay attention to watch the whole movie. But to me, the gist was the same--we need to save our planet. Stop being lackadaisical.

50% percent of campers dozed off, the other 50% managed to finish the movie, although I had no idea how they managed to watch the movie with a very strong soporific effect. After that we were asked to voice out what we thought about the movie. Bla.

We were so tired but they kept on talking. The two 'presidents' kept droning on and I endeavoured not to fall asleep. I was really tired. After about 45 minutes they finally stopped talking, which enlightened everybody in the hall. But we weren't allowed to sleep yet, we had got to have our supper and then our group advisor needed to talk to us about whatever they wanted to talk to us.

Then finally--11.45pm. We all fled and began to brush our teeth. I lied on the floor and began to sleep shortly after I closed my eyelids.

Random

I want to create a third blog. Any advice? What should my third blog brag about?

Or maybe my third blog should be written in Malay? Or use engrish, that language everyone adores? Or focus on education, writing notes for SPM students? Or create a third blog specially for all Jit Sin students to criticise our teachers?

Hahaha~~any advice?

Mid Year Exam, Day 8

The last day of our exam, the day we all were waiting for.

Last paper for the day: Modern Maths, the paper that nobody ever bother to care.

Before the paper started, there was an assembly. None of us loved assembly because assembly=sweating. We all hated that. After assembly we had three hours before the paper started, so we just sat down and bantered for the whole morning.

The paper was quite easy, but don't expect me to get higher than 90. I always make mistakes.

By the way I did what I promised. How's this new blogskin?

Miss

After exam, I looked at my class photos.
From 1M to 2A6, from 3A5 to 4S3.
Then I realised,
I still miss 3A5.
Whenever I look 3A5 class photo,
I felt nostalgic, I felt sad, I felt down.
I never once felt that way when I stared at 1M and 2A6 photos.
It has been six months,
but I still miss 3A5.
4S3, somehow, doesn't take a big place in my heart.
I have friends in 4S3.
Raymond, Zi Jian, Khai Wen, Chin Sheng, Shik Ming, Chun Wei, Yee Chong
Ivy, Pei Ying, Tian Na, Cindy, Xiu Jing.....
I too have friends in 3A5.
Chin Seng, Wee Chin, Say Kit, Lawrence, Jacky, Wee Liam,
Derrick, Yong Jie, Weiguang, Adwin
Jia Xin, Joo Phin, Yue Hong.........
My friends from 3A5 are the best.
They share the same interest with me,
they talk to me, they enjoy bantering,
they enjoy pulling each other's leg.
My friends from 4S3 are not so great.
They enjoy reading. Reading is always their priority.
Even if they do not enjoy reading,
they talk about things I have never heard before.
I still miss 3A5.
Till now 3A5 is still 100% better than 4S3.
Don't tell me time will change my feelings,
because it has been six months,
and my love towards 3A5 have not faded a little.
Not at all.

Mid Year Exam, Day 7

Sorry there will be no pictures on this post. My computer has broken down and it is not functioning now. My computer is now being repaired, but I miss my computer...

So the first paper for today: Chinese paper 2. As what I had expected, the paper was tough and it someone said they waltz through the exam, I bet he or she is a genius with an IQ exceeding 180.

Let's not talk about the negatives.

The second paper: Chinese paper 1. It was only okay, I hoped I could get high marks because I don't want to fail my Chinese!

Third paper for the day: Sejarah. Most of us had been prepared for Sejarah, especially after paper 2 was over. So paper 1 was quite easy. Within 15 minutes, half of my class had gone to their dreamland, including me. I never slept so long in an exam. (==''')

That's all for today. Tomorrow is a holiday. Yeepie!!!

Tuesday, 1 June 2010

Mid Year Exam, Day 6

First paper of the day: English paper 2. We were all studying Literature Component because we knew it would be difficult.
But turned out the paper was quite easy. Not many of us were complaining about the paper.

But here's the thing: the weather was too cold, and the time given was way too long. After collecting the paper I rushed to the toilet, only to find out that the toilet is full. If you wanted to pee, you had got to wait, because there were at least 30 people in the toilet!!!

So I rushed down to the toilet at the ground floor, and it turned out to be the same. This was the first time I saw so many people in the toilet.

Second paper of the day: English paper 1. Many of my friends were afraid they couldn't finish the paper because the time given was 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was, admittedly, stunned for a few minutes while I was doing the speech. They were two words I didn't understand, but I still used it...........

I chose "Friends" as my topic in section B. I thought that was the easiest to write.

Third paper of the day: Sivik. Who cared about Sivik? Not even teacher cared. But the paper turned out to be difficult. I couldn't answer many questions. I wished I wouldn't fail.....haiz.
Next papers: Chinese and Sejarah paper 1.
