Singapore----------Day 2

After a wonderful, uninterrupted 8 hours sleep, I woke up reluctantly and joined my mother to have breakfast. That day was Saturday. Both my uncle and aunt did not need to go to work. Therefore, my uncle brought us breakfast. Singapore's foods come in big packets. One packet of food in Singapore is double the size of package food in Malaysia. Trust me. Think before you order two packets.

After breakfast, my uncle brought us around Singapore, in his car.

There are something I learnt in Singapore, and I want to share it:

1. Although Singapore's official language is English, and most people think Singaporean have good english, they are wrong. The younger generation do have good english, but the older generation prefer to use Singlish. However, my uncle said he despises his children (my cousins) to use english as their first language. Despite their will to communicate in english, my uncle still wants them to speak in chinese.

2. Many parents from Johor decide to bring their children to Singapore for study. My aunt strongly disapproves this action. She told us that Johor students, who go to Singapore for study, need to wake up 4am in the morning to go to the immigration station, to avoid traffic congestion. And they will only reach their home at around 9pm. It is burdening! Those parents are so inconsiderate. Have you ever thought what you children want?

3. Malaysia's education is much difficult than Singapore, because Singapore have only needed to study 2 languages, and their chinese education is lower than Malaysia. Even my uncle says Malaysia's chinese education is extremely high. But I think to the contrary, I will explain later, when I post about my trip in Toa Payoh.

4. Singapore's driver are very patient. I have been living in Singapore for 4 days, and I haven't heard a single honk. The drivers can wait patiently for the pedestrian to cross the road without honking. So good!

I believe I have learnt more, I couldn't remember now. I will try and post later.

My uncle then brought us to Science Centre, where we watched a lot of interesting science stuff and scientific trickery. The price is cheap, only $6. My aunt and cousins then joined us. Anyway, here are the pictures:

Again, sorry for the bad quality.

This is where my uncle slept for one hour and me and my mother took a nap.

I did not take much photos, because the science centre was dark and my camera couldn't take it. We stayed in the science centre for about 4 hours and then we left. It was late, around 7pm. We decided not to go anywhere. My uncle and aunt then brought us package food again. This time, a larger packet of food. God, I was famished and finished the whole packet.
After dinner, my mother then chat with my aunt, and I borrowed Eclipse from my cousins and finished the book there. After finishing the book, I went to sleep and without any interruption, it was Sunday already.

Singapore----------Day 1

Singapore, a small island country at the south of Malaysia. I have been wanting to get out of Malaysia for years, finally I have a chance. I wouldn't miss it, although I'm not really looking forward to it.

Anyway, I wouldn't drone on things like this. I will regale all of you with my stories in Singapore, albeit a boring one. Me and my mother went to Singapore on Thursday night, December 10, 2009.

At first, we felt our presence on the bus incongruous as we were the only chinese. As the bus made a few more stops, the ratio of the three races was no longer lopsided. I wasn't enjoying the bus much. I had intermittent wake-ups, which really irritated me. I couldn't sleep well and hence, I was tired on Friday.

Nevertheless, we reached the immigration point. It was a new experience to me, which I will never forget it. Once we reached Singapore, we took a bus to a MRT station, and rode our way to Yew Thee station, where my uncle has been living since he lives in Singapore. It was great because we would have saved a lot of money from staying in hotel.

Most Singaporean have an EZ-link card to use MRT. My mother bought two, and I have one too.
After arriving my uncle's house, we were greeted by my cousins. My uncle and aunt were not at home at the moment. We were tired, therefore we rested for a moment before we wandered our way to Yew Thee station to go to Singapore Zoo. To go to Singapore Zoo, we boarded the MRT from Yew Thee to Choa Chu Kang, and then took a bus to Singapore Zoo, directly. Singapore's transport is so conveniant. MRT connects every part of the country. The buses arrived in every few minutes and the buses are all very punctual. You wouldn't get lost in Singapore.

The largest zoo in the Southeast Asia

Tickets weren't cheap. $18 for an adult.

I have taken some photos. I'm not photographer, and I don't enjoy being photographed. So forgive me that I'm not in the pictures. But you wouldn't want my hideous looking face in the pictures. Sorry for the bad quality.

Remember what happened here? A man was bitten alive here by three tigers. It happened last year.

The scenery were way too beautiful. Have a look.

Then we watched two live performance, with animals of course. Those animals were adorable. I didn't take it. Sorry. Watch it for yourself if you want. Singapore Zoo was choked full with people, a lot of foreigners too. There were many languages I heard, and I couldn't point out what language. Then, after one tiring afternoon, we boarded the bus from Zoo to Ang Mo Kio's MRT. From the MRT we went straight to Orchard. Orchard Road is the place where the later you go, the better it is. The night scene was just so beautiful that I watched with my mouth agaped. However, we were dog-tired, we didn't stay in Orchard for long. And we had gone only a small part of Orchard. The road was too long for us to walk. Maybe we could if we were not tired, but we were dead beat. Anyway, I managed to take a few pictures. Please remember that the pictures I took is only from a small part of Orchard. If you ambled along the lane, you would see more.
Again, sorry for the bad quality.

I should have taken more pictures. I regret now. But, regretting is useless now. Orchard Road was lined with Shopping Complex and fulled with extravaganza. We didn't have that much money to be spent. We reached home, and my mother had a chat with her brother, who is my uncle. I then had a bath and hit the sack early. Sleeping is the last thing I did upon the first day in Singapore.

Thursday

December 10, 2009. It's not very the moment I have been waiting for, but I can't say I'm not eager for the day to arrive. It's today, undeniably. I had made passport, therefore, I will go to Singapore today.

Tonight,9.30pm I will depart and journey Singapore. This will be the very first time I step my feet out of Malaysia. I haven't even reached Pahang, or Sarawak, or Sabah, but I'm going to Singapore.

I'm quite worried about my Facebook. Fishville actually. What will happen to my fishes if I don't feed them in 2 days? Will they all die? I don't know. There are cruel to make this a rhetorical question. But I will sell all of the fishes. Not all, I will leave one there. If it dies, I will know what to do next.

Facebook, weirdly, is getting very, very boring. I have surfed the entire Facebook and I couldn't find anything that interest me. The games are lame. You just have to feed them, recharge them, give them foods, and they will automatically help you to the next level. So far I have only chummed up about 70 friends. With most of them I known, and one foreign friend, which I was floored to receive her friend request. I pondered over the idea to accept that, but I couldn't think out one reason to ignore her as I'm not going to post anything too personal. I accepted it eventually.

That's It

That's it. I saw these pictures on engrish.com. And frankly, I couldn't stop myself from laughing anymore! I need to share this with all of you!!

Some of them are not engrish, but just funny. You know it's very hard to find these pictures anymore, especially Chinglish. As China is trying to eradicate the usage of Chinglish, which bothers everybody, they blocked engrish.com.

Anyway, enjoy the following pictures.

No copyright infringement intended. Every posts is taken from engrish.com
