I Dare You Not To Laugh!

I really can't stop myself from laughing.

A non-racial party actually accuses a multiracial party for being what they labelled as world's most racist party!

Well, UMNO, do you know DAP can sue you, especially when you alleged that Indians in DAP is ignored and considered kelas kedua?

I don't want to be charged for making bogus accusation, outrageous lie and unacceptable obscene comments. But I have the right to share the news I find screamingly absurd.

Part-Time found

It's quite depressing actually, to have finally found a part time job.

Initially I went in search for a job in Jusco, but end up to no avail as most stalls do not require anymore workers. So I left and went to shop houses outside my housing area to scour for job, and managed to find one - a waiter.

Well, not exactly a waiter. I've to take orders, collect dishes, wipe tables, and serve. No cleaning, thank God.

It was quite tough, a bit challenging. But it's new to me - I will get used to it later, I believe.

At least I got a job to kill some time, rather than sitting at home, watching the time crawls away with the speed of a snail. Being a waiter is, well, metaphorically speaking, a kind of sports. You run like hell, you wipe hastily, you take orders without patience. Time's precious, and creeps incredibly slowly.

No wonder everybody says having a job is no fun - it indeed is no fun.

So friends, study when you have the chance to study! Having a job, performing it, is crazily boring and taxing.

Beggars

Yesterday my mother and I were in Gurney Drive, watching the tides rolling to the shore. We were in a car because it was raining and we had the window winded down, when out of the blue a beggar stopped in front of us asked for some money with a pitiable look and shouted 'I wanted some money, can you give me some? "我要一点点钱,可以吗?"

I was floored by his presence and question. He looked unkempt, seemingly earnest, and appeared to be exceedingly desperate for money. I was at lost for a moment, didn't know how to react. I looked at mother, who was equally shocked like me. But then she started the car engine, winded up the window and drove away.

Sometimes, when I see them, I really want to give them some help. Sometimes when I come across beggars or vagabonds I was always contemplating whether I should lend a helping hand or turn a deaf ear, pretending to be blind and scurried away.

Sometimes they are desperate. They really need help and they resort to begging in the streets, usually they are old or handicapped, and perhaps mentally unstable and facing insolvency. I always have an urge to help them, maybe giving them some coins or RM1 could help them a little.

But then, I have seen a beggar smoked. He used the money he painstakingly collected to buy cigarettes. Cigarettes destroy your life, they obliterate your lives without mercy, shove your families away, burn your lungs, trigger cancers and God knows what more diseases they can induce.

If this is the case, why should I help? It could mean they have spent all their money on drugs and cigarettes and that's why they become bankrupt, having no more money in possession and therefore choose to beg in the streets.

It's true that are people who are faking. They decide to cheat and gain money through an easy method - begging.

What should I do when I see beggars? I don't know. There are people out there who really need help, but unfortunately there are a multitude of fakers who are there feigning to be pity, put on a pitiable look and badger people for money.

So I choose to turn a blind eye and walk away - even though sometimes my heart aches.

But, to be frank, if you are old and really need some money to support your life, why don't you find an easy job like washing dishes in a shop? It's better than begging in the streets. You can't expect to live with the helps of Good Samaritans, and you certainly can't live by begging.

And I hope the government would do something to help them. Give them financial support or provide them shelter would be lovely and your help will definitely be appreciated.

Darkest Hour

Yes, I've gone to watch a movie again. It's sort of an addiction when you're experiencing profound ennui. The Darkest Hour is the only movie I haven't watched, so I bought a ticket with a princely sum of money and watched it on a weekday. Guess what? There were only 13 people in a hall of theatre. Nice.

Anyway, the movie is okay. I don't know why viewers and newspaper reporters call it abysmal, waste of time or ridiculously boring. Personally I find the movie quite entertaining, probably because I ain't persnickety, but the movie really isn't that bad, and it's much better than Epic Movie or Disaster Movie - those are rubbish that will waste your time. The Darkest Hour is a movie about alien invasion, what's special about this is that the aliens are invisible and they destroy everything they see and touch. No mortals have survived their touch. Their intrusion cost a lot but five humans survive by hiding in a chamber. After a few days they escape and decide to go on run while avoiding those invisible alien.

Bla bla bla. The movie is okay. Not really the best choice of movie if you just wanna watch one, but it's not a crap movie that will waste you your time.

Form 6 - Start In September?

I have heard this rumour which mentions that form 6 will begin in September. I do not buy it.

There are reasons I don't buy it, and so I'll list it here. But bear in mind I do not represent the Ministry of Education and therefore what I said could be wrong and Form 6 might actually start in September - although I highly doubt it will.

Why Form 6 wouldn't start on September:

1) Semester-based system simply means the one and a half year system will be split into three semesters: June-Nov, Jan-May, June-Nov. There's no way they will push the date later and follow the university way. They'll most probably follow A-Level system more than university. If it's beginning in September, then tell me, how long will the Form 6 duration be? When does it end? If I begin Form 6 in 2012, will I finish it in March 2014, or the Ministry of Education shortens the duration by 3 months?

2) Teachers who teach Form 6 need to teach other forms, there's no way the authority in question will let them laze around for 9 months and then begin teaching form 6 students in September. This is simply preposterous.

3) If the system is similar to university and students who have to attend classes in December, then who's going to run the school in school holidays? How many teachers would have no holidays for the entire year since, as I mentioned above, they have to teach other forms as well?

4) I have found no relevant articles or announcement pertaining to "Form 6 commences in September". A simple Google could rebut this rumour relatively easily.

5) There'll be no other forms of students in schools December, but yet form 6 students have to attend classes. If so, would co-curricular activities be permitted to be carried out, since camping and the like would severely interrupt their learning sessions?

6) I highly doubt canteen operators would favour this, and I doubt they'll operate in school holidays since they'll be only a few form 6 students in school. So, form 6 students would have to starve?

7) What do the Ministry of Education and the relevant authority expect students to do in the 9 months after SPM?

8) This rumour has been circulating for a while since a few years ago, but is recently brought back due to the announcement of implementation of new system.

For the 8 main reasons I have stated above, I highly doubt Form 6 will begin in September.

Great Video!

Impressively made and the lady definitely has guts. At least someone dares to stand up against corruption.

It's time BN gets out of their seats. I don't care who wins in GE13, Pakatan or DAP doesn't matter, as long as it isn't BN, it deserves a celebration. :)

Pray in supplication. :)

What I've Been Doing.....

Post SPM life is really boring, and with strict schedule and family time table I am not able to find a part-time job for now, much to my chagrin. So what can I do? Kill some time doing some random things while I painfully watch and feel the time crawls screamingly slowly until I am given an opportunity to find a part-time job.

So, what have I been doing?

1) Reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I have to admit, I never grew a liking, or even developed an interest to this books. Why? Because it is translated. Translation sometimes inadvertently remove some sense of humour or some elements in the original language, rendering the translated version a bit dull. But I have no choice. Since it's selling like hot cakes and its reception overwhelming, I bought the book and began to read. Surprisingly, it's quite nice, albeit the characters' names are disconcerting and painful to remember. Even the places are hard to recall, probably because they are in a language not native to me. So far, the book is captivating, the mystery is pretty dark and the characters are fascinating.

2) Watching Merlin. I just had the chance to watch an episode on TV3 and began to like it. I have no knowledge on the Arthurian legend, sadly, but I still love the series. Merlin and Arthur are brothers that do not admit their friendship but yet manage to convey their love to each other in a unique way I enjoy a lot. It's sad to see Morgana has turned evil, she could have been a great character without the devil in her. For now, I'm waiting to watch how Arthur is going to react when he discovers that Merlin is a sorcerer and how is it to realise that your best friend has been hiding a big secret for so long and is constantly saving your lives. I shall wait in anticipation. :)
